Alle Jahre wieder, am Samstag vor der ProWein, findet die Probe der Renaissance des Appellations Winzervereinigung statt. Jener Organisation, die von der Biodyn-Ikone Nicolas Joly ins Leben gerufen wurde. Eine überaus spannende Veranstaltung, da sie einerseits ein breites Spektrum an Appellationen (vornehmlich aus Europa), andererseits insgesamt qualitativ sehr hochwertig arbeitende Winzer an einem Ort zusammenbringt.
In diesem Jahr hat sich noch eine weitere Organisation, nämlich “Haut les vins” (Ableitung von “Haut les mains” = “Hände hoch”) der Veranstaltung angeschlossen. Die Winzer dieser Vereinigung arbeiten ein Stückweit radikaler und bieten sogenannte “Naturweine” an. Ein Grund mehr sich an diesem Samstag Mittag im Düsseldorfer Industrieclub einzufinden.

Since we already were in Bergheim, a visit at the legendary Domaine Marcel Deiss was kind of a must. Luckily, their tasting room is open on saturday mornings and we were probably the first to arrive at about 11 am, making for a very warm welcome at the estate. Read the rest of this entry »
For a friends and family get-together in Alsace, The “Riesling-region” of France, we had a reservation at Antje and Patrick Schneider‘s Wistub du Sommelier in the pittoresque village Bergeim. I stumbled upon this restaurant when looking for an interesting place in the surroundings of Ribeauvillé and coincidently found a recommendation on someone’s facebook status, I think it was Panos Kakaviatos who was posting about a meal there – again, the blogosphere proves to be very useful.
We arrived in the region in the afternoon of a beautiful September day, and after checking in to our hotel, we were all set for a joyful dinner at the Wistub. Read the rest of this entry »
Last weekend was awesome! Together with some friends I was lucky to be welcomed by Didier from Vimpressionistes in a cosy holiday appartment in the beautiful village of Château Chalon in the Jura region of Eastern France. First of all, to finally meet his beautiful baby-daughter but of course also to indulge a memorable blindtasting.
