Mmmmh, dieser leichte Stinker, “chaussette mouillée”, etwas kuhstall, genauso wie bei den französischen Vins Naturels. Ich mag das. Aber es ist ja auch Frucht dabei, von der feinen rotbeerigen Sorte. Am Gaumen, ein Wein der bizzelt, nach 5 Jahren auf der Flasche (!!), der hat wohl ein ausgeprägtes Eigenleben.

Great Wines Gala in Berlin

A week ago I spontaneously decided to hurry to Berlin on Sunday for attending the “Gala Grosser Weine”, a wine presentation organized by a local wine store where many top German and international winemakers were presenting their products. It was a great event! Out of the German winemakers I already knew many and previously tried their wines at more close by presentations and thus the core attractions to me were big international names like Giacosa, Château Canon, Ridge, Moric or even Château La Nerthe. Visit at Gambero Rosso Boutique Winery Tour

Again I was lucky to attend one of those tasting events mostly organized for professionals of the industry. This time it was all about Italian wines. And I got to admit that I always feel like a total wine newbie each time I get a hold of it.

So many regions, so many varieties, and the regulations and labellings are probably more confusing than the German ones. But I don’t complain about that – I get along with it and declare it as a lack of experience: Thus an easy solution to my problem is that I have to taste more Italian wines.
