Here’s a quick update on Château Boyd-Cantenac from Margaux out of the blockbuster vintage 2005. It’s a 3rd Grand Cru Classé which I haven’t tasted for about 3 years. My last posts about it can be found here and here.
For the occasion of a homemade steak dinner I thought it would be an appropriate bottle and a good opportunity to check on its current state.

After that parade of rather aged Italian reds, I thought it would be nice to drink something red again, but young and non-Italian, so I decanted a 2005 Chateau Boyd-Cantenac from Margaux, which I already had before and knew it would be a wine with lots of sex-appeal, rejuvenating our palates. Der Wein zum Thunfischsteak. Tolle tiefdunkle, aber leuchtende Farbe. Feine Nase nach Cassis und Teer, elegant und nicht aufdringlich, etwas Würze.
