In Frankfurt gibt es ja schon eine Vielzahl an Steakhäusern. Deswegen ist es auf den ersten Blick wenig einleuchtend, warum man als Fleischliebhaber die Fahrt ins rheingauer Weinland antreten sollte, um ein Restaurant zu besuchen, dessen Spezialitäten ausgerechnet wieder vom Rindvieh stammen! Côte de Boeuf and Pontet Canet 2004

Yes I know, summer is finally there and screams for light wines: whites, rosés and maybe a fruity red, but this nice piece of Charolais simply begged on its knees for a powerful Pauillac.

And it’s true: it would be a shame to serve this Côte de Boeuf, medium-rare, with an unworthy wine. So I pulled the cork out of a 2004 Château Pontet-Canet. Read the rest of this entry »
