This basic Riesling from Ansgar Clüsserath Estate of Trittenheim, which is a village along the Mosel, is marketed as a wine reflecting the soil on which it grows. And indeed, after screening the color which is of medium intensity, one encounters a clear slate nose mixed with lime notes and a hint of peach. On the palate again slate-minerality, peach fruit, some herbs and this time a nice acidity counterbalancing the fruit. The wine appears with a medium weight and is well balanced. The finish is quite intensive on slate also and more than only medium long. Quite nice and worth its 12 Euros I would say. 86-88
