Lavinia has always been one of my favorite winestores in Paris. It’s like a wine epicentre in this city of bons-vivants.

Jacques Le Divellec has been running his (1 Michelin star) fish and seafood restaurant for quite some years now and is known as one of the references for such cuisine in Paris.
Claires de Marennes N°4 Oysters, straight out of the restaurants’ seawater tanks: they couldn’t be more fresh and were some of the most delicious oysters I had. Continue reading

So many regions, so many varieties, and the regulations and labellings are probably more confusing than the German ones. 2003 Münsterer Pittersberg GG, Weingut Kruger-Rumpf, Nahe
Zuallererst fällt mir beim Lesen des Etiketts auf, dass dieser Wein trotz Hitzejahrgangs 2003 nur 12% Alkohol mit sich trägt. Fast ein Paradox? Die Nase zeigt hingegen äußerst reife Apfel-und Pfirsichfrucht und dazu noch etwas Biskuit-Teig. Am Gaumen wirkt der Wein auch recht reif in seiner Fruchtigkeit mit Pfirsich- und Apfel-Noten, und eine fast oxydativ anmutende Note, die etwas an überreife Ananas erinnert.
