This is a more highly priced South-African wine than those I used to drink until now. I am not yet a great fan of South Africans, although all of them I tried were of solid quality. But I often find these red wines to have quite intense smoke aromas, ranging from slightly smoked ham, to heavily smoked bacon. It’s maybe a matter of taste, but I feel that these smokey notes are somehow unbalancing the wines. Continue reading →

This nice bottle was a gift from our good friend Steffen, a true gourmet who appreciates anything good tasting, from regional terrines and sausages to haute cuisine and of course is also a great expert for everything wine. Για μια πολύ συγκεκριμένη ήμερα για την Ελληνίδα φίλη μου, ήθελα να ανοίξω το κατάλληλο κρασί να κάνω μια πρόποση στην υγειά της. Για το σκοπό αυτό είχα μια φιάλη κόκκινο κρασί από την Πελοπόννησο, το οποίο, όπως και η φίλη μου, τα έχει τα χρονάκια του. ;=) . Continue reading →

Im Glas eine Schöne dunkle Farbe. In der Nase sehr intensiv mit Kräuter und Tabaknoten die sich mit Pfirsich melieren. Am Gaumen druckvoll und dabei ebenfalls schön die Balance zwischen herben Kräuter- und Tabakaromen sowie saftiger Pfirsichfrucht haltend.
