Restaurant Les Déserteurs, Paris – a great, tiny restaurant

Restaurant Les Deserteurs Paris

I haven’t been posting much lately, but sometimes there are stories and moments you just have to spread accross the web. For sure I am not the first to praise the skills of Daniel Baratier in his restaurant Les Déserteurs. But there’s so much to like about this place in the XIème arrondissement of Paris which I have to share! First, I love the unpretentious atmosphere of it. It is tiny, with a small kitchen directly located at the entry of the restaurant. When you enter Les Déserteurs you find yourself next to the passe and your level of appetite will explode after seeing the first dishes being plated there.

24/7 Meat in Paris at “La Maison de L’Aubrac”!

Maison de l'Aubrac at night

Of course there are many restaurants in Paris serving good beef, but if you’re looking for the one go-to point for your sudden fix of meat, then La Maison de l’Aubrac certainly should be high on your list, since it also is the one such place that is open any time a day for the entire week.

And somehow you feel like there’s a special kind of vibe in this place, which isn’t far from the Champs-Elysées. There seems to be a mix of testosterone and beef vapors in the air and a common spirit of meat-greed that unifies all patrons. Read the rest of this entry »

Der Metzger-Magier von Paris: Yves-Marie Le Bourdonnec

Le Bourdonnec‘s Credo liegt eineirseits im Beziehen von bestens aufgezüchtetem Fleisch von den geeignetsen Rassen, andererseits Read the rest of this entry »

Lavinia Winestore, Paris

Lavinia has always been one of my favorite winestores in Paris. It’s like a wine epicentre in this city of bons-vivants.

The choice is huge, the selection offers nice surprises and discoveries. And if you’re looking for exclusive Grand Crus, this is definetely the place to go with a jaw-dropping treasure-cellar featuring endless lines of Petrus, Moutons and other VIP’s of the wine world. And after not having been there for 2 years or so, the wine store had a special surprise for me: I couldn’t believe what I was seeing there…

Restaurant Le Divellec, Paris

Jacques Le Divellec has been running his (1 Michelin star) fish and seafood restaurant for quite some years now and is known as one of the references for such cuisine in Paris.
