It’s hard to describe Roberta’s Pizza.
If you think in an objective way and put together observed facts you could say it is a mix between a pizzeria, an organic farm, a creative kitchen, a craft beer garden, a serious Italian oenoteca and even a radio station.
If you add a little subjectiveness you could also add “Hipster hangout”, food experiment, patchwork building etc…
In any case, when you pass this door into this rusty shack you will find a very special place. And to come to the point: I love Roberta’s (and that doesn’t mean I’m a hipster). You will see why. Read the rest of this entry »

Ivan’s Oyster Bar & Grill, Howth, Ireland

If you’re a fish and seafood lover and happen to visit Dublin, than a quick ride to Howth is a must! It only takes a few minute by train to reach this small fishermen’s town and the harbour with its restaurant is just next to the station: thus, no real effort is needed to get there! ;)

Looks delicious!

..and tasted delicious! I’ve never eaten tripes that good before. Well, maybe I’ve never eaten them before, I’m not so sure. Those were served at Koehler Ruprecht estate in Kallstadt during the local wine fest. Really tender and with such a hearty and delicious sauce they were just splendid.

Restaurant Le Divellec, Paris

Jacques Le Divellec has been running his (1 Michelin star) fish and seafood restaurant for quite some years now and is known as one of the references for such cuisine in Paris.

Jack’s luxury Oyster Bar, NY

When I was in NY in November I met fellow food blogger Steve for a nice dinner at Tailor’s. Since I brought my friend Jeff and Steve brought his friends Toby and Brendan we were quite a nice round of food enthusiastic diners that evening. During this evening which ended in a bar in the West Village, we found out that Brendan is a young chef holding the reins at Jack’s Luxury Oyster Bar – a restaurant in the East Village.
