Es war einfach wieder Zeit für die tollste Wein-Sause des Jahres. Die Weinpräsentation im Roten Hang ist für mich schlicht und einfach das schönste Weinevent des Landes. Zum Einen bietet sie die Gelegenheit alle Facetten einer aussergewöhnlichen Lage zu probieren und zum Anderen kann man hier einfach einen perfekten Tag mit Freunden verbringen. Happy New Year to everyone and all the best wishes for 09! I hope you had at least such a good time as I had during the holidays. A big highlight at this time of the year are always Christmas dinners with the family . Besides the joy of being united, they’re of course the perfect occasion for experimenting with fine foods – Always an enterprise with uncertain outcome! Fortunately we can also rely on wines to save the dinner – here are some of my favorites.

This really was like a walk through paradise. At the VDP Grosse Gewächse Tour I had the pleasure to attend, I was able to taste some of the most acclaimed Rieslings from Nahe Rheinhessen and Pfalz. Ok technically seen, Rheingau and Mosel which are also big compartments of Riesling Paradise were left out, but I have to admit that it would have been too many wines in the end, and I felt lucky enough with 42 top-estates that were represented.
