Zuallererst fällt mir beim Lesen des Etiketts auf, dass dieser Wein trotz Hitzejahrgangs 2003 nur 12% Alkohol mit sich trägt. Fast ein Paradox? Die Nase zeigt hingegen äußerst reife Apfel-und Pfirsichfrucht und dazu noch etwas Biskuit-Teig. Am Gaumen wirkt der Wein auch recht reif in seiner Fruchtigkeit mit Pfirsich- und Apfel-Noten, und eine fast oxydativ anmutende Note, die etwas an überreife Ananas erinnert. Not much time to take pictures, everyone was already leaving Paradise at that point…
This really was like a walk through paradise. At the VDP Grosse Gewächse Tour I had the pleasure to attend, I was able to taste some of the most acclaimed Rieslings from Nahe Rheinhessen and Pfalz. Ok technically seen, Rheingau and Mosel which are also big compartments of Riesling Paradise were left out, but I have to admit that it would have been too many wines in the end, and I felt lucky enough with 42 top-estates that were represented.
