2009 “lieu-dit Clavin”, Domaine de la Vielle Julienne, Rhône – Alte Grenache Reben bringen Frische und Grip!
Es wird mal wieder Zeit die Reise gen Süden anzutreten, zumindest was die Weinauswahl betrifft. Zwar habe ich auch bei diesen eisigen Temperaturen nichts gegen frischen und spritzigen Riesling, doch ein warmer Rotwein hat natürlich eine ganz spezielle Wirkung auf die Seele. Doch es sollte jetzt auch keine weichgespülte Marmeladenbombe sein, sondern ein Rotwein mit “Charakter”, selbst wenn das erstmal völlig abgedroschen klingt. Read the rest of this entry »
Weekend Escape to Sardinia
Thanks to Ryanair, a spontaneous weekend getaway to Sardinia isn’t so much out of reach. There are several connections from Continental Europe serving the charming city Alghero on the West-side of the island, and with a little bit of luck with timing one might be able to get those cheap seats. 2008 Mortiès, Pic Saint-Loup, Languedoc
This is a bottle I am already familiar with since I had it quite often when I used to live in Montpellier: It’s a true classic of that region and a safe value that I’m always happy to have in the glass (older vintage TN, see here). So I was quite thrilled when a friend brought me that bottle which stems from the specific Languedoc AOC Pic Saint-Loup which lies North of Montpellier. 2008 Poudre D’Escampette, Casot des Mailloles, VDT
After a short but intense Oktoberfest this weekend, I’m now back to posting my remaining summer reds tasting notes. This 2008 Poudre d’Escampette from Casot des Mailloles is another bottle I bought in Paris at Caves Augé.
