Iggy’s Restaurant, Singapore

When looking for fine dining in Singapore, there are many more options that one might think. Alas, if you’re going there for a weekend trip with the idea of visiting such a restaurant, it is better to check your options early and reserve a table at least 2 weeks in advance. This is exactly what I forgot to do. Luckily for us, our dear friend Meng was able to secure a last-minute table (even as a private dining room) at Iggy’s restaurant within the Hilton Hotel on Orchard Street. Thanks a lot Meng for this great experience! Read the rest of this entry »

Impressions from Restaurant Schloss Berg in Nennig, Chef Christian Bau

Some food porn impressions of a friend’s dinner at 3 star restaurant Schloss Berg, where Christian Bau is the acclaimed chef. I don’t have the name of the dishes nor the descriptions, but I thought there’s no reason not to share those pics for visual appreciation only. Gästehaus Klaus Erfort is maybe not located in the middle of the most fantastic neighbourhood of Saarbrücken. But, stuck in between a tenement and a gas station one finds a beautiful white mansion with a modern extension on the side accomodating the kitchen. From the street, one can observe the chefs through a glass window. Once we passed the entrance, we were directed to the back of the mansion where a quite unique terrasse is located. There you have the most beautiful view on a huge garden with endless lawn and a tiny pavilion on the side. Quite a contrast to the street side of the house and a perfect setting for apéritifs. JLOB / Jack’s Luxury Oyster Bar, New York

627

Here’s one of my last post about food in NY. In the East Village I paid a visit to JLOB where chef Brendan Mc Hale has internalized the degustation dish principle that has been taken over by, well… Degustation, the other restaurant of Jack Lamb’s small East Village empire.
