The 2007 Deidesheimer Grosse Hohl GG by Mosbacher is a powerful Riesling. Vibrant and musculous, yet with enough fruit and a beautiful acidity to balance it. Nice presence and nice length. Able to compete within Germany’s Riesling top league.

Spanish Reds Blind Tasting

After many weeks we finally gathered again for a genuine blind tasting round. This means that we agreed on a topic – Spanish Reds from the nineties on – and then covered the labels. The big guessing fun game could begin.

Restaurant St-Pierre, Singapore

As our trip to Malaysia also included a weekend in Singapore, we seized the opportunity for a fine dining experience, simply because there is a much bigger choice for such type of restaurants as compared to Kuala Lumpur.

2000 Châteaux de Lascaux „Les Secrets“, Côteaux du Languedoc

Of course there were also non-corked bottles for Christmas. This 2000 Cuvée Les Secrets from Château de Lascaux was superb. Tannins were softened after 7 years but fruit was still there.

Secondary aromas such as garrigue flavours gave the wine complexity.

Si vous aimez les bons vins et êtes de passage à Montpellier, je peux vous recommender un bon petit restaurant dans une petite ruelle au Coeur du vieux centre ville. Le concept bien pratique des Caves Jean Jaurès veut que vous vous dirigez vers les etageres à vins une fois que vous avez choisi vos plats.
