A quick refill of German countryside food before Gotham City

Suddenly we have a golden October in Germany, well at least 2 days of it, luckily on the weekend, and what a perfect opportunity for driving to the Pfalz and have some fresh new wine and rustic meals. In 2 days I’m off for the big apple, and even though there are so many different kinds of restaurants in the city, I guess I won’t see such dishes anytime soon there.
Here’s a real quick guide on how to enjoy the German countryside:

Step 1: fill up your tank with Federweißer, that’s new wine, or basically grape juice that starts fermenting

Step 2: fill glasses and share, start eating some snacks.

Step 3: Locate some food for lunch

Step 4: Get it on a plate

Step 5: Get even more food – Specialties from the Pfalz like liver dumpling and Saumagen (Litteraly: pig’s stomach )

Then take a last close look at rustic German food before leaving to New York; hopefully there’ll be some rustic American food :=)
