Finally back from a spontaneous 2 week trip to Malaysia and Singapore. We were visiting my brother who lives in Kuala Lumpur and we really had a great time. The only thing missing was my notebook and the ability to upload pictures and post updates on my blog; somehow no internet café would allow me to use my flash memory card. So now that I’m back I have to catch up and relive the trip by retroposting a few things about it. As you can imagine, it’ll mostly be about Asian food, but there’s also one fine dining experience in Singapore and some German wine I brought hear to create good matches.
So to start, here’s my preferred Malaysian breakfast, Roti Pisang, which is a sort of Banana Crêpe, filled with those tiny, intensely flavourful bananas. The dough tastes a little salty, I guess because the cooks use Indian Gee butter, but its a great taste enhancer.
