Von Othegraven war schon vor dem Kauf durch TV-Ikone Günther Jauch ein sehr bekanntes und anerkanntes Weingut, dessen Geschichte wohl bis vor das 16 Jahrhundert reicht. Auch die Eigentümerwechsel haben schon lange Tradition im Kanzemer Weingut: Mönche, die Familie Von der Leyen und eine ganze Reihe Kaufmänner: alle durften sie ein paar Jahrzente lang die Trauben lesen. Freestyle Half Double Blind Tasting with Friends
Last weekend was awesome! Together with some friends I was lucky to be welcomed by Didier from Vimpressionistes in a cosy holiday appartment in the beautiful village of Château Chalon in the Jura region of Eastern France. First of all, to finally meet his beautiful baby-daughter but of course also to indulge a memorable blindtasting.

2009 Rotschiefer Riesling, Van Volxem, Saar
Very nice Riesling fruit and dirty slate tones (dirty in a good way of course) in the nose. Still lots of yeasty aromatics as well. Dito Berlinkitchen. Zu dem Preis von ca 12 Euro ein guter Wert. Kann man sich ruhig ein paar mehr in den Keller legen.
