Lavinia Winestore, Paris

Lavinia has always been one of my favorite winestores in Paris. It’s like a wine epicentre in this city of bons-vivants. The choice is huge, the selection offers nice surprises and discoveries. And if you’re looking for exclusive Grand Crus, this is definetely the place to go with a jaw-dropping treasure-cellar featuring endless lines of Petrus, Moutons and other VIP’s of the wine world. And after not having been there for 2 years or so, the wine store had a special surprise for me: I couldn’t believe what I was seeing there…

Restaurant Le Divellec, Paris

Jacques Le Divellec has been running his (1 Michelin star) fish and seafood restaurant for quite some years now and is known as one of the references for such cuisine in Paris.

2007 Riesling vom Kalkstein, Stefan Winter Rheinhessen

IMG_1487

Visit at Gambero Rosso Boutique Winery Tour

Again I was lucky to attend one of those tasting events mostly organized for professionals of the industry. This time it was all about Italian wines. And I got to admit that I always feel like a total wine newbie each time I get a hold of it. So many regions, so many varieties, and the regulations and labellings are probably more confusing than the German ones. But I don’t complain about that – I get along with it and declare it as a lack of experience: Thus an easy solution to my problem is that I have to taste more Italian wines. And I can live with that! :)

2003 Münsterer Pittersberg GG, Weingut Kruger-Rumpf, Nahe

IMG_1499

Eine intensiv prickelnde Säure erinnert hingegen Read the rest of this entry »
